Our first session together will give you an insight into what it will be like for us to work together. At this early stage we will begin to develop our work together through discussing what brings you to therapy/counselling and by the end of the session we will have a sense of what the focus of our work will be. Session length will be 50 minutes for individuals and up to 1 hour 15 minutes for couples, the first session may sometimes last a little longer.
Committing to work
Therapy/counselling works when we are able to commit time and effort to think about the issues that bring you to the sessions. It is therefore important to be able to commit to weekly sessions. When we agree to work together we are making a commitment to be available for sessions on a regular basis. As our work progresses we may find the initial focus of the work changes and so this may change or if it is resolved discuss bringing the sessions to an end. In all cases it is important to have a planned ending.

I operate a cancellation policy and so sessions cancelled at short notice, less than 2 weeks, will be billed for, where possible I will offer an alternative session.
